• Lockout Services: We unlock all makes and models of vehicles. We strive to provide professional and timely service at a fair price. It should be noted that due to illegitimate locksmiths and scam artists flooding our local phone books, you should always get a firm total price of the lockout service to be provided before anyone comes to you. We have heard horror stories of customers getting a quote of $39.00 and 20 minute arrival time that ended up to be $150.00 and 2 hours late.

• Making Keys: We duplicate most keys, including foreign and domestic, antique and new, cars, trucks, RVs, campers, motorcycles and boats. Program or clone many of the new transponder or "CHIP" keys. We can also fit keys to many cars, trucks, RV's, campers, motorcycles and boats. Cut key by code on CNC machine when codes are available or hand fit keys when not. If for whatever reason we are unable to make keys for your high security vehicle, we will recommend a qualified and fair priced competitor.

• Lock Repair: We repair locks for foreign and domestic, old and new, rekey replacement locks to your existing keys and we provide replacement locks for warn out locks, in most cases for less than the dealerships.

Commercial

KeyWest Lock and Safe provides all the hardware and services to efficiently manage your security system. We install and repair hardware, design, implement and maintain master key systems, and install and maintain access control systems. Our technicians have the knowledge and experience to recommend and install the proper systems to secure your facility.

• Master Keying: We are fully capable of generating and maintaining computerized master key systems to fit your needs, large or small, for just a few doors of a small business or scores of doors throughout a large facility. A "Master Key System" is a guide for the keying of lock cylinders and producing keys that will not interchange while providing a master key that will operate all or some of the locks in a group.

In this way a supervisor could have a single key, a "Master Key" will open all the offices in his or her department while each employee will have an individual key that fits their office only. And this can further be scaled up to include multiple supervisors with separate master keys that are separate from each other while a office manager carries a Grand Master key that would work all the locks of the multiple departments. And believe it or not this system can scale up further to include multiple sites.

• Access Control Systems: We install and service many of today’s mechanical and electronic keyless entry systems. We provide product lines, such as ASSA, SmartLock, Zodiiac, AlarmLock, Kaba/Mas/Simplex, Securitron, Altronix, Aiphone, KeriSystems, Locknetics, SecuraKey and many more. We offer from simple stand alone door mounted cipher locks to full multiple entry point electronic systems, numeric keypad, swipe-card, proximity readers and biometrics.

• Key Control Systems: We offer several levels of key control and levels of lock security. Many people think that simply having their keys stamped with “Do Not Duplicate” or “Do Not Copy” is good key control. It is not. A majority of business and facilities are on a common commercial Keyway commonly available at hardware stores. Most locksmiths will refuse to make a copy of a key stamped this way when one is presented over the counter, we, at KeyWest Lock and Safe, certainly will not.

Typically, we require a letter of authorization on company letterhead to do so. However, with the many hardware stores and specialty key boutiques around duplicating keys that will not notice or even care, very few of those we explain the need for a letter of authorization return to us to have the key duplicated. Some have returned at a later date concerning something else and tell us they had it done up the street.

What Is Key Control & Why You May Want It

True key control is having a key type that can only be gotten from one or very few sources. We call this type of key a restricted keyway. These can range from locksmith only keyways that any locksmith can get to the reserved keyways that only the one locksmith company it has been assigned to will be able to get. Both standard and high security locks are available in these two types of keyway systems.

Many times as employees come and go it is often desired or required to change the locks so that the key that had been in the procession of the former employee will no longer work. Even if this former employee returns the key, can you say without a doubt he didn’t have copies made?

With your business equipped with locks on a commercial restricted keyway (Locksmith only) the odds of a duplicate key grow slim. If your locks are on a Reserved Keyway the odds are zero. How this works is that your keys are registered with the locksmith to a person or persons that will be the only ones authorized to have keys made. Each time a key is made a signature card on file will be matched to the persons Identification for verification and a log of how many keys were made will be tracked. And if the Key is presented for duplication by someone unauthorized to do so, the owner will be notified. So when the former employee returns the key, you know the level of security of your property remains intact, thus the expense of having your locks re-keyed is avoided.

• Deadbolt Installation: We professionally install new deadbolt locks to secure the doors of your home. Police recommend deadbolts over just having knob or latch locks to help defend against forced entry or credit card entry.

• General Lock Repair: In today’s disposable world, it is often seen as easier and less expensive to simply replace than to repair. Often this is true. However, this is not always the case. With many specialty and high security locks, the cost of simply replacing could run into the hundreds. Often enough, it is a simple repair or even just an adjustment.
